BoG warns public from using Cedi as bouquets

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has issued a warning to the general public to avoid the use of the Ghana Cedi Bank notes as money bouquets and hampers.

The public was cautioned against using Ghana Cedi notes for money hampers and bouquets by Mr Dominic Owusu, Assistant Director of the Bank of Ghana’s Currency Management Department, at a press event on Thursday, 30 March 2023.

This new development is in response to the widespread practice of misusing cedi notes by folding and arranging them into bouquets and hampers as gifts for birthday celebrants, graduates, etc. Mr. Owusu said that defacing currency is against the policy of the Bank of Ghana. The Director has stated that this behavior should not be encouraged.

This news today has really made a lot of young guys are happy as the BoG has saved them from pressure. This is because there is a lot of pressure on young men in Ghana to give money flowers to their partners and loves on important days like birthdays, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, and other holidays and festivities. Guys who are not able to fulfill this demand risk losing their ladies to others who have money or face relationship issues.

This is indeed a life saver from relationship pressure. Most guys among the public are now ever ready to heed to this Cedi warning from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) gladly. Kindly watch video below:
